You will be getting investor knocking on your door or calling you. Don't talk to an investor until you have the information you need!  You still have until the day of the auction to get it postponed or cancelled. The bank doesn't want your house they want the money.  They will offer you a home loan modification plan. These are good if you want to stay in your home. If you just want out, like most people, you have time. You don't need to be hasty, but you need to have a plan. You need to know the value of your home, what have homes been selling for in the last 6 months? Do you have equity? An investor wants to make money from your home. If you don't have equity then let the investor go through the short sale process with the bank. If you do have equity you want to sell it through a Realtor. It won't cost as much as dealing with an investor and with the right agent your home should sell quickly, there are buyers out there.  Once complete it will be time to get on with life and the dreams you know are in your future.
